We are looking to welcome an experienced and professional certified electrician to our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across our various project sites in the Montreal metropolitan area. They will have the ability to install complete electrical systems as well as identify and take preventative measures to ensure the comfort and safety of our properties.
Responsibilities:
- Electrical system installation: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards.
- Interpretation of plans: Read and interpret electrical plans, diagrams, and technical drawings to determine the layout and configuration of electrical systems.
- Power distribution: Install and maintain electrical distribution systems, including transformers, distribution boards, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Lighting systems: Install, troubleshoot, and repair lighting systems, including indoor and outdoor fixtures, ensuring they are well-lit and aesthetically pleasing.
- Equipment wiring: Wire and connect various electrical equipment, such as generators, motors, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, fire alarms, and security systems, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Testing and inspections: Perform thorough testing and inspections of electrical systems to identify faults, malfunctions, or potential risks, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
- Maintenance and upkeep: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
- Code compliance: Stay up-to-date with local electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards, ensuring all electrical work complies with established guidelines.
- Safety protocols: Follow strict safety protocols and procedures to avoid accidents, injuries, and electrical hazards, maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate effectively with other trades, contractors, and team members involved in the construction and maintenance of the hotel complex.
Qualifications:
- Electrician certification: Possess a valid electrician's license (journeyman) (CCQ).
- Experience: Have a proven experience of at least 5 years as an electrician in the construction sector or in related fields.
- Technical expertise: Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, electrical codes, and safety rules.
- Plan reading: Mastery of reading and interpreting electrical plans, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Problem-solving ability: Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Attention to detail: Show meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of installations, wiring, and repairs.
- Physical condition: Show physical aptitude and agility to work in various construction environments, including at height, in confined spaces, and outdoors.
- Communication skills: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, contractors, and project managers.
- Time management: Effectively manage tasks and prioritize workload to meet project deadlines.
- Safety awareness: Show a high level of commitment to safety protocols and the ability to strictly follow safety guidelines.
- Ability to work in all shifts, including weekends and holidays, if necessary.
