Our client, an industrial construction contractor located in Boucherville, wishes to welcome an experienced estimator to their team. You will prepare lump sum and budgetary bids for projects involving various disciplines, including site mechanics, boiler making, steel structures, welding, and piping. In collaboration with the supervision teams and site stakeholders, you will establish realistic estimates and plan execution strategies adapted to the specifics of each project.
The tasks consist of:
- Analyzing tenders, plans, specifications, and technical specifications.
- Determining price requests to be made to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Preparing lump sum and budgetary estimates for projects.
- Carrying out quantity surveys and evaluating costs related to materials, labor, equipment rental, and subcontracting.
- Carrying out detailed surveys of the work to establish the workload and man-hour needs.
- Collecting and validating the information necessary for the preparation of bids.
- Evaluating the work methods to be favored on sites.
- Developing execution strategies taking into account shift work, duration of work, and supervision needs.
- Conducting site visits to validate the information used in the estimates.
- Identifying optimization opportunities and anticipating constraints that may impact the completion of the work.
- Answering technical questions from various stakeholders during the preparation and execution of projects.
- Participating in coordination meetings.
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Performing all other related tasks.

Requirements:
- College diploma, professional diploma in an appropriate specialty, or training deemed equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in estimation, project management, or a related function.
- At least 10 years of experience on construction sites.
- Good understanding of trades related to mechanics, boiler making, steel structures, welding, and piping.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of the Construction Code, the CCQ collective agreement, and the materials used on sites.
- Good command of Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Availability to occasionally conduct site visits within a radius of up to 250 km.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple estimates or files simultaneously.
- Ease of collaboration with site teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Functional English in order to read and interpret technical documents from some international suppliers (about 30%).
Salary: Between $100,000 and $130,000 per year, negotiable depending on experience.
Schedule: Daytime, full time.
