Building Technician (Control and Home Automation)

Do you have expertise as a building control and home automation technician and are you ready to take on a new challenge?
A regular job of 38h45 per week is currently available as a building technician, specifically in system control.
The main and usual role of the employee in this job class is to provide technical assistance to the various services of the school service center, mainly by conducting research, developing plans and drafting specifications, collecting and providing the basic data necessary for professional staff and managers of various services, or to be responsible for the operation of equipment related to building mechanics.
In the field of building mechanics, she is responsible for:
- Operation, maintenance, verification and installation of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration and control systems.
- Perform the required operations of calibration, adjustment, modification and programming of temperature, pressure, flow controls.
- Coordinate the technical work of preventive maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Carry out regular inspections and required operation tests.
- Ensure that repairs are carried out or carry them out as needed, she makes the necessary recommendations for major repairs or required improvements.
- Participate in the development and updating of the physical inventory of mechanical services as well as the spare parts bank necessary for safe operation of the systems.
- Study, propose energy conservation programs, apply them or have them applied when they are approved.
She may be called upon to initiate less experienced technicians as well as to coordinate the work of support staff in the tasks performed by this staff in relation to the implementation of technical operation programs for which she is responsible.
If necessary, she performs any other related task.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience
- Hold a college diploma in building mechanics technology or hold a diploma or certificate of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority.
- Have experience in home automation system installation (controllers and activators) and in the design and programming of home automation systems.
Specific requirements
- Knowledge of home automation programming.
- Perform connections and/or final installation of certain home automation equipment.
- Perform diagnostics and implement repair solutions.
- Ensure quality control of configuration and integration during layout projects.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of Delta systems.
- Knowledge of Regulvar will be considered an asset.
