Building Technician Profile

Your role

The building technician is responsible for providing technical assistance to the various services of the school service center.

Your responsibilities

• Carry out the necessary visits, research and consultations following requests from establishments, propose relevant solutions and ensure their application
• Analyze the needs related to the layout of premises as well as the construction of furniture and equipment, taking into account the constraints imposed by their use and established standards
• Initiate work by CSS Marie-Victorin staff or external contractors and ensure their follow-up and inspection
• Advise and guide the technical staff of his service center
• Provide support to establishments in emergency situations
• Play an active role in preventive maintenance follow-up
• Provide all necessary support to his manager and replace him during his vacations
• Perform any other related tasks as needed

Your qualifications

• Pass a written French test (writing)* *Only required to obtain a regular position. If you have passed the uniform French test from Cégep, you will be exempt from the French test.
• Have a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle

OPTION 1

• Hold a college diploma in one of the following disciplines:
  • Building mechanics technology
  • Architecture technology

OPTION 2

• Hold a college certificate in building construction and renovation AND a college certificate in construction estimation

OPTION 3

• Hold a pre-university college diploma AND a relevant college certificate

OPTION 4

• Hold a terminal university degree AND a relevant college certificate

Your remuneration

Hourly rate of $27.23 to $37.96, depending on your education and experience
