📝 Job Summary
We are looking for a specialized laborer in the installation of floor waterproofing membranes holding a journeyman competency certificate (JCC) from the CCQ. Under the supervision of the team leader or superintendent, the person will be responsible for the installation of waterproofing membranes on foundations, concrete slabs, rafts, basements, and floors to ensure optimal protection against water infiltration and humidity.
🔧 Responsibilities
- Prepare ground surfaces (foundations, slabs, rafts, footings) by cleaning, stripping, and priming before the application of membranes
- Apply the necessary primers and undercoats to ensure the adhesion of membranes to concrete surfaces
- Install waterproofing membranes that are self-adhesive, welded, or liquid on foundations, ground slabs, basement floors, and buried foundation walls
- Lay drainage membranes and protection panels around the perimeter of foundations
- Create waterproof joints, connections to flashings, drains, and penetrations (pipes, ducts, etc.)
- Treat cracks and concrete reprise joints on the ground before the application of membranes
- Perform waterproofing tests and check the conformity of installations
- Read and interpret plans and technical specifications related to ground waterproofing work
- Keep the job site clean and orderly, manage materials and work tools
- Strictly adhere to health and safety standards on the job site and wear PPE at all times
✅ Requirements
- Journeyman competency certificate (JCC) from the CCQ – mandatory
- ASP Construction card in good standing – mandatory
- WHMIS 2015 certification – mandatory
- Valid driver's license (class 5) and vehicle for travel to job sites
- Significant experience in installing ground waterproofing membranes (foundations, slabs, rafts, basements)
- Knowledge of different types of membranes (self-adhesive, torch-welded, liquid/elastomers)
- Good knowledge of waterproofing products and ground application techniques
- Spoken French – mandatory
