We are currently looking for a Refrigeration Journeyman - TAG 1 Gas and Heating for our service team covering the Greater Montreal area for a day job on the road including a weekly on-call service rotation.

Under the supervision of the Service Manager, the holder of the position will carry out the repair and maintenance of air conditioning and ventilation systems.

Specific task description

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR:

• Performs monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, heat pumps, and cold rooms, etc.
• Maintain various process equipment, heating systems, or hot water systems
• Investigates the causes of breakdowns and repairs heating, ventilation, air treatment, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems
• Ensures that the installation is working correctly and performs restart tests
• Recharges installations with refrigerant, controls and tests regulators, calibrates systems, and performs routine service maintenance
• Repairs and replaces parts and elements of complete refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation installations
• Performs any other task deemed compatible with its function, when required by the service manager
• Performs maintenance, repair, installation, and dismantling work on various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment
• Performs all other related tasks requested by the client or the Service Manager

Requirements

ACADEMIC TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• DEP in refrigeration or recognition of diploma/experience by the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity, and Inclusion
• Must have a Refrigeration Journeyman TAG-1 card issued by the Quebec Construction Commission (mandatory)
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of electromechanical systems in industrial or institutional buildings

KNOWLEDGE:

• Mastery of standards, laws, and regulations in his field of activities
• Excellent general knowledge of pneumatic controls
• Good knowledge of building mechanics
• Technical knowledge in ventilation and heating systems

REQUIRED SKILLS AND PREREQUISITES:

• Dexterity, precision, and meticulousness
• Autonomy and ability to manage his own work schedule
• Customer service oriented
• Ability to work in a team and also with the public
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Valid and compliant driver's license
• Have no legal impediment related to employment
