Job Summary
The apprentice in interior systems participates in the installation, modification, and finishing of interior system components in residential, commercial, institutional, or industrial buildings. Under the supervision of a journeyman or team leader, he or she performs various tasks related to drywall, suspended ceilings, metal partitions, and insulation.
Main Responsibilities
- Read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Measure, mark, and prepare work surfaces.
- Install metal studs and support structures.
- Install gypsum panels (plasterboard/drywall).
- Install suspended ceilings and acoustic systems.
- Perform thermal and acoustic insulation work.
- Apply health and safety standards on construction sites.
- Properly use manual and electric tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with other trades and the site team.
Job Requirements
- Hold a valid apprentice card (CCQ if applicable).
- Interest in manual work and construction.
- Good physical condition and ability to work at heights.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Punctuality, autonomy, and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials (asset).
