Job Description
Join the Badger team as a Hydrovac Operator! In this role, you will use high-pressure water and suction systems to dig accurately and efficiently, uncover utilities and contribute to various construction projects. What you will do:
- Operate hydrovac equipment and perform hydrovac tasks in a variety of work environments, including confined spaces
- Drive our hydrovac trucks (10-15% of total work time)
- Attend safety meetings
- Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of hydrovac equipment
- Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards
- Document and report all Badger, federal, provincial, and client documents accurately and efficiently
What we are looking for:
- Class 1 or 3 driver's license with F or M endorsements preferred
- Workplace safety training, including but not limited to, ASP, WHMIS, first aid, ground disturbance, H2S, confined spaces, fall protection.
- Preferred experience driving a manual transmission (10-18 speed) without automatic restrictions
- Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%
- Must be able to lift, push, pull more than 50 pounds and have the physical endurance for manual labor in varying weather conditions
- Previous experience with hydrovac equipment or related industrial experience preferred

- Comfortable with technology
- Able to properly use provided personal protective equipment
- Candidates must undergo a physical examination and pass pre-employment tests such as the summary driving test and drug and alcohol screening test
- This position is located in a region covered by a collective agreement; the successful candidate may be required to join the union as a condition of employment
