Tasks
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, repair cables, equipment, and electrical devices
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic cables, equipment, appliances, fixtures, and accessories, using hand tools and power tools;
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components;
- Diagnose malfunctions of systems, appliances, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to find the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem;
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes;
- Maintain an electrician's license or any other document card meeting government regulations;
- Plan the layout and installation of wiring, equipment, and electrical appliances, based on specifications and local codes;
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and appliances, using hand tools and power tools;
- Test the continuity(s) of circuits in wiring, equipment, and electrical appliances using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes;
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.

Qualifications and requirements
- Training in a specialized school;
- Certificate of qualification (license "C")
- Ability to determine the causes of operating errors and determine how to fix them and repair machines or systems using the necessary tools.
